How to add video content to your training courses

Updated over a week ago

Requirements:

  • ANANAS Business user, with Administrator access

  • A publicly available video hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. You can create and host your own videos with a free account using either service.

Using video in your training is a great way to increase learning and retention. These can be professionally produced, though it is entirely possible to create a great quality video using modern digital cameras and even mobile phones.

Adding a Video to a Lesson

1. Head to Content Manager >Internal Training, select your course then, Edit Course> Edit Lessons>

Embed Video.

If you have not yet created a course, follow the steps here.

2. Name the lesson to explain the contents of the video.

3. Locate and copy the public URL for your video from the Share options.

YouTube Share

Vimeo Share

The video MUST be publicly available. Any videos marked as private or not shareable will NOT be visible in ANANAS.

4. Paste the URL of the video into the lesson

4. Add a caption for the video. You can also add formatted Lesson Content to accompany the video.

5. Hit OK - You are done!

From here you can continue to build your course. Ensure you save before exiting and hit Publish when you are ready to enrol your team.
