COVID compliance for employees

Add training to ensure you are compliant and safe to re-open

Updated over a week ago

With the changes happening in many regions, there is a real prospect of being able to reopen your doors, in some way, soon. There are however major considerations and detailed steps to take to ensure the safety of your employees and the general public.

It is highly likely that your local governing body will require you to train and maintain a register of all staff to ensure all have received COVID-19 specific training before reentering the workplace. The training template provided here aims to ensure your employees are prepared to safely re-enter the hospitality workplace.

The information in this course based on guidelines from multiple government bodies around the globe and the World Health Organisation.

Due to the constantly changing nature of this crisis, advice and requirements may vary from region to region and will likely change several times over the coming weeks and month. The material assumes that as an operator, you are across the specific legalities of re-opening that relate to your area and business and that you amend our document as require to reflect this.

Simple setup steps

Follow the steps below or check out the video

1. Download the template document to your hard drive

2. Review all content and make any changes required for your specific business needs

Areas, where we recommend adding detail specific to your business, are marked in red

Content covered includes:

- What is COVID-19
- Preventative measures
- Social distancing
- Personal hygiene, hand-washing, uniform care
- "Can I return to work?"
- Venue procedures, pre-opening, in service, regular cleaning
- In-venue procedures and cleaning
- Cleaning standards & guide
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

3. Save your document(s)

Export your edited document as a PDF.

As this is a longer course, you may choose to save each section as a separate PDF; This will allow you to create a separate lesson in the course for each section making it easier for employees to view and manager their place in the course.

4. Upload to ANANAS

Create and name the course, add a brief description such as This course is mandatory for all employees to complete BEFORE they are permitted to return to work. The course covers our policies and procedures to ensure the wellbeing of our staff and the safety of the public.

Assign a number of days for staff to complete this. Two days will give ample time for existing and new staff. We highly recommend managers check via the platform reporting to ensure their team have completed the training BEFORE they return to work

More details on creating internal training can be found here.

5. Create a test

We recommend you test employees, on the content included in the course to ensure they have a good understanding of the requirements and their responsibilities as well as giving you additional assurance of compliance. Ensure that all questions can be answered with the material supplied in the course.
You may wish to simply add a True/False question stating, "I have read and fully understand the information relating to my responsibilities and requirements set out in the Employee COVID-19 training manual". - this will come down to your preference as a business, though we recommend the former.

6. Publish your course

Hit the publish button and all the matching staff will be emailed to let them know a new training course is required. If you need to make minor changes to the course, this can be done without un-publishing. When a course is unpublished, it can not be viewed (except by admin-level users) and any scores/passes will be re-set. We recommend you only un-publish a course when it is no longer required OR where you want to reset and retest all staff, such as in a major change to a procedure.

7. Check up on your team

Use the dashboard and reports to see who has completed the course, see scores and use results to highlight areas where training may need improving.

You can follow up with staff who are overdue training from directly within the dashboard!
